What is the ID deletion process as per GDPR?
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), individuals have the right to request the deletion of their personal data from an organization's systems. This is known as the "right to erasure" or "right to be forgotten".
The process for deleting personal data under GDPR involves the following steps:
- We will respond to your requests within 30 days. Extensions are allowed only if the request is exceptionally difficult to fulfil.
- You need to submit the attached form to assist@upgrad.com to request for ID erasure.
- Upon receiving your request, we will verify your details to ensure that the request is legitimate and has been made by the individual concerned.
- Once we have successfully verified your request, we will delete all your personal data from our systems and send you an email to confirm that the deletion has been completed.
If you wish to make an access or portability request, then you need to submit the attached form to assist@upgrad.com so we can verify your identity. This is necessary to prevent the inadvertent sharing of another person's private personal information with a third party.
